This is a story about trauma and accountability.
Jack is alone, adrift at sea and losing his mind. The naval officer vows to write a story for saving the world and hence scribbles out the third most read book of the 19th century. Through much of the story Jack has considerable mental trauma and believes he is dead living in a ghostly perdition. Themes of love, hope and forgiveness, Jack’s arc becomes his own atonement with absolutely no one to express it with. A gift of Neptune he is greased with an unlimited kit of food and water.
Nowhere to hide Jack befriends three hungry sharks he sees as Greco oracles. A magical crow appears for guidance. Jack is visited by a horrible demon and is whisked on a crazy undersea adventure where he is shown the meaning of life. Now rescued by a ghost ship and dropped into the center of island warfare with the greatest treasure in the world at stake. What will happen to Jack?
